I think she liked it.

This is kind of a radio piece. It’s a poetic dialogue between a young poet, who’s up late with writer’s block, and a minor Roman poet he’s obsessed with, who appears to him and may or may not be real.

This recording is the first full read-through of the piece, which we did in front of an audience! I wrote it for Rhymes With Opera, and we’ll probably get a full performance together soon.

Burton Raffel, the amazing poet and translator, wrote the poem, and sent it to me to set after seeing what I did with his translation of The Seafarer. I hope he likes it!
